Lead Abatement & Lead Certified Remodeling
We have a Maryland State certified Lead Abatement Supervisor on staff and trained lead abatement workers that can assist you in lead abatement projects for rental or other qualifying projects. Lead abatement (removal or containment of all lead based paint) is not a requirement in privately owned residential properties; however this is an issue in older investment properties or child care facilities. If you have rental properties built prior to 1978 we can assist you in making those properties meet HUD and state lead based paint requirements.

As of April 2010, all home improvement contractors must be EPA lead paint certified for renovation, repair and painting on homes built prior to 1978. This is a must ‐ don't hire a contractor who is not EPA certified if your home was built before 1978, and be especially concerned if he isn't aware of such a requirement. We received our EPA certification in 2010. However we've been practicing lead safety measures prior to that as just part of normal job safety. We will be glad to sit down with you and discuss any lead based paint hazard questions you might have and to go over the EPA issued "Renovate Right" brochure.
Please note that the EPA requirements also hold for window replacements in older homes. When working on older double-hung windows in historic homes we take all precautions to prevent the spread of lead based paint dust and to ensure your safety.
We take safety issues seriously at Doman Custom Carpentry, LLC.
